Regent's Park

Common Shelduck: one flew out of the Longbridge Sanctuary.
European Wigeon: 2 birds also flew out of  the Longbridge Sanctuary this afternoon.
Water Rail: 2 birds in the Rail Ditch in area 2. Last year was the first year since 2005 that no birds wintered. The feeding station that the birds took too was put out this morning and will hopefully be used by these birds.
Redwing: 10 flew west.
Chiffchaff: one was in scrub by the Rail Ditch.

The Rail Ditched is viewed from the railings on the northern side of Hanover Bridge.

The feeding station is at the far end of the channel to allow the birds to
feed relatively undisturbed. Today one bird was feeding at the end nearest to the bridge.

These photos show birds that wintered in the past but hopefully this years
birds will like what Regent's Park has to offer.

Let's hope they appreciate the amenities!

You will be pleased to know that the Robins like the food that is put out.
