Regent’s Park

Swift: 2 today over the open spaces at mid-day.

Whinchat: present since yesterday in area 39.

Lesser Whitethroat: 3 still in area 39.

Common Whitethroat: at least 7 present; 3 in areas 31 and 4 in area 39.

Willow Warbler: yesterday; 12 in area 31 & 32.

Chiffchaff: yesterday; 14 in areas 31 & 32.

Spotted Flycatcher: one in area 39 today.

Bushy Park

I only had time to check the area just east of Chestnut Avenue. There was a small number of common migrants.

Swallow: 40 perched and feeding in the area.

House Martin: 2 birds were with the Swallows.

Common Whitethroat: 8 in the bracken area close to the channel that feeds the boating lake.

Sedge Warbler: I was surprised to see one appear in one of the Hawthorn trees.

Willow Warbler/ Chiffchaff: at least 10 in the same area.

Reed Bunting: 8 present here, often the phylloscs chased them away.

Whinchat: one was perched on the bracken south of Upper Lodge Road.
