Bushy Park

I popped over to the Skylark area in the south-east corner of the park early this morning. I was pleasantly surprised by the numbers of larks and pipits that were singing and chasing each other around.

Skylark: possibly 10 males, though I expect there were a couple on the western end of this protected area.

Meadow Pipit: 4 pairs were fairly mobile and no sign of food being taken to any young. I wasn’t able to spend to much time there but will hopefully check again soon.

It is always hard to get views as good as you can in Regent’s Park but this wasn’t bad.

I had to call in on the way home so took the opportunity to see how the Shelduck young were progressing. They are doing really well as the photos below show.
