Richmond Park

Having had a week away, news of that will follow this entry, my quest to remove as many Oak Processionary Moth nests has moved to Richmond Park. This means hopefully a chance to see a few migrants in a park that I always mean to spend more time in.

Today’s news

Common Tern: one pair are still present and behaving as if they are about to start breeding.

Swift: 11 were over Lower Pen Pond at lunchtime.

Swallow & House Martins: not really a sign of any migrants, just the local birds present.

Willow Warbler: 4 near the riding ring by Holly Lodge.

Chiffchaff: 6 in the same area.

Common Whitethroat: 3 same location.

Blackcap: 6 feeding on Blackberries here also.

It is a shame that Mallards and other species of waterfowl are not very successful in this or any of the London Parks.

Tufted Ducks have done pretty well in Regent's Park (IMHO)
