Bushy Park

Common Buzzard: a pair were calling over the western side of the park.

Little Owl: males could be heard calling from the Paddocks and Half Moon Plantation.

Skylark: 6 males looked to be holding territories south of Upper Lodge Road.

Water Pipit: 2 birds flew low NW, at one point I thought they were going to come down on the last of the remaining flooded areas south east of Round Plantation.

Swallow: The first bird returned to the stables today, another 6 singles flew north.

Blackcap: 8 males singing along the western side of the park.

Willow Warbler: 5 males were singing on the western side of the park 3 by the Longford River north of Dukes Head Passage.

Chiffchaff: 8 singing males.

Reed Bunting: pairs in the Brewhouse pools area and south of Upper Lodge Road.

While this bird flew over a gap in the trees another bird could be heard and glimpsed through the tree canopy.

In recent weeks work has been carried out on the scrape. The intention being to attract more species to an area that was more land than water.
