I am off to Norfolk tomorrow to see Sally’s mum. I hope to be out and about on Sunday, so if you see anything interesting can you flush it in my direction.
Bushy Park
There is nothing that surprising with the parks latest sightings.
Common Shelduck: a pair flew in from the direction of Hampton Court.
Sparrowhawk: a male flew into the Woodland Gardens.
Hobby: a high flying male was hawking insects over the western side of the paddocks.
Common Tern: up to 2 males can be seen fishing on the Diana Fountain, though one is more aggressive and chases the other off.
Swift: a flock of around 40 birds do a circuit over the parks western section.
Sand Martin: five birds were over the Heron Pond.
Swallow: there seems to be a good number of recently fledged birds, feeding over the paddocks and Brewhouse Fields and pools.
Reed Warbler: still only two pairs on the pools in the Brewhouse Fields.
Adults are collecting materials for nest improvements.
The hirundines have to keep an eye out for a passing Hobby.
This might just be a little to much for a Heron to manage.
Having seen how easily the Heron catches fish this fishermen sobs on the bank.
