17th July

Regent’s Park

I popped in to see a Pyramidal Orchid that flowered for the first time in the park in 2011 but failed to flower last year.

Kingfisher: while photographing the orchid I heard a bird calling from the end of the lake in area 36. A quick search of the area failed to locate it.

Kestrel: the heat was keeping the juveniles out of sight for much of the time I was there this afternoon.

The bird below was playing silly games on the end branch. It was a shame that the sun was not in a better position.
