Bushy Park

Much the same as it has been, though no sign of Siberian Chiffchaff, mind you I only had a quick look at 8.30am while checking the water level in the river.

Common Shelduck first of the year.

Drake Mandarins were courting a duck over the Brew House Pools.

Hybrid Aythya  was with a Tufted female on Heron Pond.

At least 3 Sparrowhawks were around this morning with a pair displaying over Queens River. They were just not quite in the right position for a decent photo.

Skylarks were in good voice this morning.

Two Chiffchaffs and a Goldcrest were by the Longford River on the western side of the Woodland Gardens.

This Water Rail was in the Woodland Garden, I only know that because I saw it fly a short distance before landing and scuttled into cover. It was barely visible but is in the photo.
