Regent’s Park

Common Shelduck: a drake was still on the main lake and looking a little nervous due to the amount of ice still present.

European Wigeon: still 5 birds present commuting between area 35 and the main lake.

Common Teal: a drake was on Heron Island area 8.

Sparrowhawk: a male flew over the lake.

Great Black-backed Gull: 7 birds flew west at 9.05am.

Stock Dove: 32 were feeding in my garden this afternoon.

Fieldfare: 56 flew west.

Blackcap: a female was feeding on Mahonia berries by the playground in area 3.

Siskin: 4 birds flew west.

This musket put the wind up the gulls on the lake with a low pass. Not that it would be able to take one.

2 Shelduck, 5 Wigeon, 64 Mandarin, 18 Gadwall, 1 Teal, 39 Shoveler, 64 Red-crested Pochard, 1 Great Crested Grebe, 2 Water Rail (one in Rail Ditch at NW end of area-2 reedbed while another squealed from the reeds), 1 Woodcock (over Leaf Yard Wood, area 40 at 09:15), 300+ Black-headed Gull, 22 Common Gull, 1 Chiffchaff, 1♀ Blackcap, 155 Fieldfare (Hill & Park playing fields), 7 Redwing.
