Regent’s Park

A beautiful sunny day with clear blue skies. This made it difficult to pick out any high flying birds. There were a couple of decent passerines in the park, unfortunately the less common of the two flew off before I get to the area to see it.

Northern Shoveler: 28 were on the lake.

Little Owl: one was calling by area 32.

Fieldfare: 87 flew over.

Redwing: 26 flew over.

Chiffchaff: 2 birds were present, one in area 1 and another in area 34.

Firecrest: a female was on the island in area 34 at 9.55am, but very hard to get on to for longer than a few seconds. It was with the tit flock, that eventually headed of towards the Inner Circle.

Goldcrest: 12 were seen in my search for their brighter relative.

Bullfinch: a female was seen for a few minutes by the boundary fence to Winfield House in area 4 at 8.45am. This is the first sighting for a few years, of what was a scarce but annual visitor to the park.

Siskin: 4 singles flew over.

Lesser Redpoll: four fly overs a single and a threesome.
